By: Pavana Reid, Pattree Chimnok, Terese Longva, Nopawan Sirivejkul, Rita Marhaug, Jittima Pholsawek, Sareena Sattapon and Marit Tunestveit Dyre. The 4 artists from Norway are all members of Performance Art Bergen (PAB).

The performance art project It’s Personal has joined artists from Thailand and Norway. The artists have something on their mind and what they have on their national framed mind is not surprisingly closely linked to their artist practice. We can reveal that the topics are related to national censorship as well as self-imposed censorship, the ongoing fight for our environment and the need for social collaboration and feministic approaches to solving conflicts. You might say that they are picking a fight on the behalf of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights from 1948. A milestone historic document which at this point in time is important to carry high and visible. It is interesting to see that the participating artist ages which vary from 25 to 59 communicate different backdrops and outlooks.

It's Personal was initiated by the performance artist Pavana Reid in 2016 as an effort to connect to her Thai heritage. Pavana Reid believes that our various personal issues are parts of a large and important issue in our society. She uses the theme “It’s Personal” to bring artists together in order to look at differences and common ground between the two cultures. The project emphasizing issues relating to subjectivity.

‘It´s Personal’ brings artists together to investigate our individual identities. The group behind the project would very much like their personal issues and interests to connect with you as an audience. Come and join, It´s Personal!
